The Harlingford
Founded in 1911, The Harlingford is an independent, family-run hotel which has been in the Davies family for three generations since they took it over in 1960.
The Harlingford is centrally located in the historic area of Bloomsbury, an ideal choice for getting the best out of London. Its elegant squares offer a retreat from the urban rush and yet the energy of the city is all around you.
The Harlingford offers the perfect balance between a contemporary feel and the restored original Georgian features of the hotel, using a simple and neutral colour palette.
Our different bedroom designs have been devised across a vibrant colour spectrum, whilst the communal areas play on the corporate colours of our smart logo.
We are very proud to have been included in Time Out’s ‘The Best 100 Hotels in London‘.
History
History is all around you in Bloomsbury, an area made famous in the early 20th century by the avant-garde artistic circle known as the ‘Bloomsbury Group’.
And the hotel buildings themselves have a fascinating past. Originally built as three separate dwellings by master architect and builder James Burton in 1807. They have variously been owned by a Member of Parliament, a retired lieutenant-colonel, a theological tutor and the famous publisher Andrew Chatto – founder of Chatto & Windus.
